Project Overview
The duplex rental on Bradley Bridge Road experienced a catastrophic release of petroleum hydrocarbons, approximately 275 gallons over a 24-hour period. The product impacted surface soils, the structure’s foundation, and the crawlspace. Petroleum vapors caused the duplex to be uninhabitable for several weeks. Bennett & Williams, Inc. provided Emergency Response services which included vapor abatement, installation of hydrophobic containment, and regulatory compliance assistance. The site was characterized, saturated soils removed, a vapor barrier installed, and the project successfully closed in accordance with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality requirements.
