Tonda Enterprises

In October, 2011, Bennett & Williams, Inc. was contacted by Tonda Enterprises to assess an emergency response situation. One of the company's vehicles had experienced a fire, and in the process of extinguishing the flames, potentially hazardous materials were released to the environment.

Lake Monticello Owner’s Association

The Lake Monticello Community is located in Palmyra, Virginia with the combined amenities of rural and suburban living. A release of diesel fuel at the Maintenance Facility threatened the subsurface aquifer and downgradient surface water.

First Evangelical Lutheran Church

Bennett & Williams has assisted the Church with site characterization, product recovery, vacuum truck extraction (dual phase), hydro-punch geologic profiling, and ongoing regulatory compliance with Maryland Department of the Environment.

Montpelier Water Supply

A private homeowner in a rural part of Montpelier, Virginia area had three water supply wells drilled, unsuccessfully, yielding less than1- 2 gallons/minute.

Powhatan Water Supply Well

The private developer installed a water supply well in rural Powhatan County to serve a small church, day care center, auto repair shop, and office building.

Henrico County Emergency Response

As part of the property transfer process, a private homeowner in Henrico County was required to characterize stained soils in the crawlspace of the residence. Analytical results indicated petroleum hydrocarbon contamination from an old heating oil tank in excess of 10,000 ppm TPH-DRO.

Colonial Heights Emergency Operations Plan

Recent development in in the vicinity of the City of Colonial Heights closed landfill facilities has necessitated special consideration be given to the possible impacts of methane gas emanating from decomposing material.

A private developer, working with several builders in the Ashland, Virginia area on a major housing subdivision, experienced difficulty in securing water resources on individual lots.

City of Colonial Heights Voluntary Remediation Project

The City of Colonial Heights landfill facilities ceased accepting municipal solid waste in 1976. Since that time, the City has identified various portions of the closed landfill for redevelopment.
