Project Overview
Since 1954, the Roslyn Farm Corporation has developed agricultural, commercial and industrial properties in the Tri-cities area, with a particular emphasis on the environmental protection and sustainability. Roslyn Farm Corporation/Temple Avenue Associates purchased a 3-acre parcel in Colonial Heights which was formerly part of the City of Colonial Heights landfill facilities. Bennett & Williams, Inc. assisted the Roslyn Farm Corporation with the first municipal solid waste landfill rehabilitation in the Commonwealth of Virginia under the Voluntary Remediation and Brownfields Programs. Services included pilot testing of waste separation processes, delineating waste disposal areas, quantitative risk assessment, supervision of waste excavation and separation, soil sampling and analytical data evaluation, replacement of the clay cap and compaction testing verification, and preparation of all regulatory compliance documents. Development is currently underway on this rehabilitated property.
